What a special day: We make a huge step forward towards truly sustainable operations with its e-mobility. Weiss Chemie + Technik installed 12 new e-charging stations at its headquarters in Haiger. These charging docks deliver electricity from our own photovoltaic system. They power a fleet of company-owned vehicles for our employees.
Recently, the chairman of the advisory board of the Weiss group, Hans Michael Weiss, inaugurated the new charging points that are integrated into parking spaces. His colleagues at the advisory board, Alexander Weiss and Dag Hagby, were present at the opening ceremony, together with managing director Christian Dölle. The new e-charging stations had been vigorously tested over the course of several weeks.
The presentation of the new e-parking spaces starts a new chapter in the mobility of the Weiss group. The e-docks are extremely efficient and environmentally friendly at the same time, they are able to charge all common e-vehicles quickly and reliably. Even the customers of Weiss will be able to use the new charging places while visiting the company to conduct business.
If the new stations are well accepted, others will follow suite in the very near future.
The source of the energy supply for the e-parking places makes this new addition to Weiss extremely efficient. The electricity comes mainly from our own photovoltaic power plant. This was installed in the year 2020. It is equipped with approx. 3.600 square meters of photovoltaic cells. It is one of the biggest solar generating energy systems in the region.
It generated over 50.000 kilowatt hours during the last 30 days. Thanks to using solar power, our company could reduce its spending for electricity significantly. The new e-charging stations reduce the costs for the company´s fleet of e-vehicles further.
For the Weiss group, practiced sustainability is the way of the future. To operate in an environmentally friendly way is a declared goal of our company's leadership. Applied environmental protection means for Weiss to go above legal regulations.
Avoiding emissions and waste is regarded a matter of principle. The new e-charging stations and the photovoltaic system show, that these aims do not remain words, but are put into action.
