Christian Dölle takes over the management of Weiss Group

Open door policy with a focus on innovation and sustainability

As of Januar 2023, the 53-year-old business graduate Christian Dölle took over the management of the Weiss Group of Companies from Jürgen Grimm, who retired on 31.12.2022 after 21 years. 

"I am looking forward to guide this established, family-owned company with a history of over 200 years, into the next chapter. In doing so, I can rely on a solid foundation: based on good, innovative products, a modern manufacture and motivated, qualified employees," says the 53-year-old, who provides 20 years of international and specific industry and management experience.

The business graduate, who speaks five languages, began his industrial career in 2003 in management positions at BMI's predecessor Monier, formerly Lafarge Roofing. Most recently he was responsible for strategy, M&A, product division, marketing, research and development, as a board member of the listed construction chemicals manufacturer Selena FM S.A..

He values an open-door policy and agile cooperation with his management team at Weiss Chemie + Technik. Simultaneously the company tradition of quality and reliability as well as the focus on innovation and development are close to his heart: "The future topics of the industry are called modular construction, sustainability and - still - digitalisation." The new managing director is convinced: "As a pearl of the German SME sector, Weiss is well positioned to drive innovative solutions."

At the same time Mr. Dölle also has an eye on the more difficult market environment. The building materials industry has been severely challenged by Corona and the inhumane Ukraine conflict. Not only raw material prices and supply chain issues challenge the industry. Also the dampening of demand, especially in residential construction, which was already visible in 2022 will intensify this year. "The ability to react adaptively to crises and to become resilient are the new challenges facing companies," Dölle summarises and explains: "This can only succeed in close coordination with our customers, with flexibility in customer orders and delivery reliability." 

His predecessor Jürgen Grimm looks back on 21 years of successful management. Under his leadership, the Weiss Group developed into a powerful medium-sized company. Through cutting-edge technology, the company built a leading market position in various industry segments.
