The German chemical and construction industries are facing major structural challenges. It is not only since the Corona pandemic and the war in Ukraine that German companies have been suffering from the energy price explosion, over-bureaucratisation, and an enormous shortage of skilled workers.
This is exactly the right time to get even more involved in the association work of the Chemical Industry Association (VCI) of Hesse. This was also the thought of the Weiss’ CEO, Christian Dölle (Haiger), who gladly accepted the association's invitation to run for the state board. At this year's general meeting of the 250-member umbrella organisation in the dignified setting of Schloss Biebrich, which is the largest economic interest group for chemicals and pharmaceuticals in the State of Hesse with around 60,000 employees, Doelle presented himself as a candidate for medium-sized companies who would like to contribute his many years of experience and expertise from this industry in these challenging times. He sees his task in representing the specific interests of the Hessian medium-sized companies and family businesses against the politics in order to create understanding for their needs and concerns.
During the term of the new board of directors led by chairman Dr. Joachim Kreysing, the creation of business-friendly framework conditions is at the top of the agenda. Only with structural improvements, Hessian and German companies could manage to restore their competitiveness in an international context. In his speech, the Hessian Minister President Boris Rhein, who is positively disposed towards the association, also supported the need for reform and for his part, he declared his full support for the Hessian politics referring the dialogue and joint effort to promote the chemical-pharmaceutical industry.
